Papa Terra-klustret
Produktionen från Papa Terra-klustret ökade med 4,7% under juli jämfört med juni som ett resultat av progressiv förbättring av den operativa effektiviteten.

Peroá-klustret
Produktionen från Peroá-klustret ökade med 12,5% under juli jämfört med juni. Ökningen återspeglar en större efterfrågan på gas i juli till följd av det nya gasförsäljningsavtalet som undertecknades den 13 juli 2023 (”GSA”) med Companhia de Gás do Espírito Santo (“ES Gás”), samt försäljning till den brasilianska spot-marknaden.

GSA har en löptid på 30 månader till december 2025, och innebär att 3R Offshore åtar sig att leverera 400 tusen m³ naturgas per dag till ES Gás. Peroá-klustret har idag en produktionskapacitet på cirka 650 tusen m³ naturgas per dag. Eventuell överproduktion av naturgas jämfört med det nämnda åtagandet kan antingen förhandlas mellan parterna eller säljas på den brasilianska spotmarknaden. GSA undertecknades efter verkställandet av ett gasbehandlingsavtal mellan 3R Offshore och Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras ("Petrobras"), för bearbetning av gas från Peroá-klustret vid Cacimbas-behandlingsanläggningen (som ägs och drivs av Petrobras).

Illinoisbassängen
Produktionen vid Illinoisbassängen minskade under juli med 10,4% jämfört med juni.

* Note: The information included hereunder relates only to Maha’s entitlement on Peroá and Papa Terra clusters’ production, considering its indirect participation interest on said assets. Maha has an indirect working interest of 15% in the Peroá cluster and 9.375% in the Papa Terra cluster, with 3R Petroleum Offshore S.A. being the operator.

Maha is the operator holding 97% working interest in the Illinois Basin. In addition, Maha is also the operator of LAK Ranch in USA. The LAK Ranch heavy oil asset was shut in 2020, but incidental oil is occasionally produced as a result of testing and/ or maintenance activities. Maha is also the operator of Block 70 in Oman with 65% working interest, where production testing is currently being performed.

Papa Terra cluster
The production at the Papa Terra cluster increased 4.7% from June to July. This result is related to the progressive improvement of operational efficiency of the asset.

Peroá cluster
The production at the Peroá cluster increased 12.5% from June to July. This result reflects a greater gas demand in July, due to the new gas sales agreement signed on July 13, 2023 (“GSA”) with the Companhia de Gás do Espírito Santo (“ES Gás”), as well as to sales into the Brazilian spot market.

The GSA has a 30 months term, being effective up to December 2025, and provides for 3R Offshore’s commitment to supply 400,000 m³/day of natural gas to ES Gás. As of today, the Peroá Cluster has a production capacity around 650 thousand m³/day of natural gas and, therefore, any volume of natural gas produced in excess of the aforementioned commitment can be either negotiated between the parties or sold into the Brazilian spot market. The GSA was signed after the execution and enforcement of a Gas Processing Agreement by and between 3R Offshore and Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras (“Petrobras”), for the processing, at the Cacimbas processing plant (owned and operated by Petrobras), of the gas produced at the Peroa cluster.

Illinois Basin
The production at Illinois Basin decreased 10.4% from June to July.

Uppdatering om produktionstest och ansökan om förlängning av Initiala Fasen på Block 70 onshore Oman

Maha Energy AB (publ) (“Maha” eller “Bolaget”) publicerar resultaten från det inledande kortfristiga produktionstestet på Block 70 i Sultanatet Oman (”Initiala Fasen”). Alla 8 (åtta) nya produktionsbrunnar, som borrats i 2022/2023 års borrprogram, korttidstestades och 5 (fem) flödade olja till ytan till ett initialt beräknat genomsnittligt flöde om 300 fat olja per dag och brunn. 3 (tre) brunnar behövde stängas ned efter att ha producerat vatten och gas men innan de producerat någon olja.

Även om över 4 000 fat tung olja med hög viskositet (omkring 11-13 grader API) producerades, vilket fyllt upp all lagringskapacitet på Block 70, har ingen vidaretransport av oljan ännu påbörjats. Maha utvidgar nu den kemiska behandlingen av den producerade oljan, baserat på de produkter som uppvisade bäst resultat i laboratoriet, för att minska viskositeten och förbättra flytegenskaperna. Därefter är målet att uppnå de uppställda specifikationerna för att transportera den producerade oljan till en tredjeparts-anläggning för ytterligare bearbetning och därefter transport genom det nationella pipelinesystemet i Oman. När det är möjligt att vidaretransportera den olja som nu finns lagrad, avser Maha att återuppta den kalla produktionen (utan värmekällor) av produktionsbrunnarna för att samla mer data och produktionsinformation.

Under andra kvartalet 2023 har minsta arbetsåtagande under EPSA-avtalet till fullo uppfyllts enligt plan. Maha närmar sig slutet på den Initiala Fasen, vilket sker i slutet på oktober 2023, och Bolaget har utvärderat olika förlängningsscenarion och fört diskussioner med omanska myndigheter.

Drivet av Mahas engagemang att slutföra testerna effektivt och för att säkerställa en lämplig och robust ansökan för en möjlig kommersialitetsförklaring (declaration of commerciality), har Bolaget därför hos Sultanatet Omans departement för Energi och Mineraler (”MEM”) ansökt om en förlängning av den Initiala Fasen av EPSA-avtalet för licensen.

Under den utökade Initiala Fasen avser Maha att genomföra aktiviteter nödvändiga för att stödja möjligt beslut avseende kommersialitet för Block 70 (declaration of commerciality), såsom att (i) genomföra detaljerade simuleringar av reservoarens och brunnarnas långsiktiga beteende, (ii) återstarta den kalla produktionen av brunnarna och undersöka maximala möjliga hållbara flödestal, betingat att specifikationer uppnås, och (iii) förbereda en detaljerad plan för Förbättrad Utvinnings Teknologi (”EOR”), såsom ånga, vatteninjicering (waterflooding) eller andra produktionshöjande metoder som kan utföras under en möjlig andra del av den Initiala Fasen.

Maha är operatör för Block 70 med en intresseandel om 65% och Mafraq Energy har återstående 35% intresseandel.

Update on the production test and request for extension of the Initial Phase of Block 70, onshore Oman

Maha Energy AB (publ) (“Maha” or the “Company”) announces the results of the initial short-term production test on Block 70 in the Sultanate of Oman (“Initial Phase”). All 8 (eight) production wells drilled in the 2022/2023 drilling program were tested for short term and 5 (five) produced oil to surface at an initial estimated average rate of 300 barrels of oil per day per well, while 3 (three) had to be suspended after producing water and gas but before producing any oil.

Even though more than 4,000 barrels of heavy, high viscosity oil (between 11-13 degrees API) were produced, filling all tank capacity available at Block 70, oil offloading has not yet initiated. Maha is now scaling up chemical treatment of the produced oil, based on those products that provided the best results in the lab to reduce viscosity and enhance flowability. Thereafter, the aim is to achieve the required specification to offload the produced oil to the third-party facility for further processing and transportation through the Omani national pipeline system. Once it becomes possible to offload the oil currently stored, Maha intends to restart the cold production of wells for further data gathering and production information.

During the second quarter of 2023, the Minimum Work Obligations of the EPSA have been fully concluded as planned and, as Maha approaches the end of the Initial Phase in late October 2023, different extension scenarios were evaluated by the Company and discussed with Omani authorities.

Hence, driven by Maha’s commitment to conclude testing effectively, and to ensure an appropriate and robust request for a potential declaration of commerciality, the Company has requested the extension of the Initial Phase of the EPSA to the Ministry of Energy and Minerals of the Sultanate of Oman (“MEM”).

During the extended Initial Phase, Maha intends to implement activities necessary to support any decision regarding Block 70’s declaration of commerciality, such as: (i) run detailed simulations of the long-term behavior of the reservoir and wells at Block 70; (ii) restart the cold production of wells and troubleshoot for the maximum possible sustained rates contingent on reaching specifications; and (iii) prepare a detailed plan for enhanced oil recovery (“EOR”) such as steam, waterflooding or other production enhancement methods to be performed during a possible second stage of the extended Initial Phase.

Maha is the Operator of Block 70 with 65% working interest, with Mafraq Energy holding the remaining 35%.

Maha has an indirect working interest of 15% in the Peroá cluster and 9.375% in the Papa Terra cluster, with 3R Petroleum Offshore S.A. being the operator.

Papa Terra cluster
The production at the Papa Terra cluster increased 71.2% from May to June. This result is due to the resumption of production of Papa Terra Cluster after a temporary interruption in May, as per previously indicated in material facts disclosed by 3R Petroleum on May 16 and May 29, 2023.

Peroá cluster
The production at the Peroá Cluster decreased 13.7% from May to June. This result reflects the impact of a scheduled shutdown at the Cacimbas Natural Gas Treatment Unit (UTGC), which interrupted the receipt of gas produced at the asset for a few days of the month.

Illinois Basin
The production at Illinois Basin decreased 6% in June compared to May 2023.

Papa Terra-klustret
Produktionen från Papa Terra-klustret ökade med 71,2% under juni jämfört med maj efter att produktionen vid Papa Terra har återupptagits efter ett tillfälligt produktionsavbrott i maj, vilket offentliggjordes den 16 och 29 maj 2023 av 3R Petroleum.

Peroá-klustret
Produktionen från Peroá-klustret minskade med 13,7% under juni jämfört med maj. Minskningen är en följd av en schemalagd avstängning av Cacimbas Natural Gas Treatment Unit (UTGC), vilket resulterade i att gasleveranserna avbröts under några dagar i månaden.

Illinoisbassängen
Produktionen vid Illinoisbassängen minskade under juni med 6% jämfört med maj.
